Biography:

Janine Piguet is an actress, scriptwriter and director from Bern. She grew up in a family of musicians in Arzo on the Italian border, then in Paris and London. Quadrilingual, she performs in in German, Swiss-German, French, Italian and English. She trained at Les Enfants Terribles in Paris, then at the European Act program from the RADA and the Actors’ Center in London and lately at the Tankstelle in Berlin. She is particularly fond of Meisner and emotional techniques. She starred in main roles in feature films like « Old boys » from Jean-François Amiguet (released in Switzerland in march 2022, and won 5 awards) or « Faeryland » (2017, Magga Ettori) in which she starred alongside Yves Duteil. In « Old boys », featuring Bernard Verley and actor Zoé, she plays the main role of Bibi, a cheeky waitress who tries to unveil her father’s identity. She appeared in the series « I-art » (available on blackpills, freebox and bbox), nominated for the Cannes séries 2021, in which she plays a mother who watched her son drown. She also starred in Plonk et Replonk’s last film and book, in the cultural exhibition at the Saline royale of Arc-et-Senans, and in the exhibition « Nous et le journalisme : à la recherche de la vérité », shot with Casa Azul.
