Aurèle Petitpierre
Occupation: Actor
Biography:
Immersed in the magic of cinema from a very young age with the Magic Lantern, Aurèle gradually discovered his desire to dive deeper into the world of cinema by directing and acting in short films during his adolescence. In 2011, he decided to fully embrace his passion by moving to Paris to learn the craft of acting at “Acting International,” a school that has produced the award-winning actor Denis Ménochet. He also attended acting workshops at other schools like the “Method Acting Center” to further hone his skills.
During these years, he appeared in several short films and made his first appearances in two feature films: the crime film “COLT 45” by Fabrice Du Welz and the horror film “DEAD SHADOWS” by David Cholewa. Nevertheless, he continued to explore the world of short films by eventually directing his own, “LYvia,” allowing him to delve into his creative universe. The following year, he acted in the short film “A L’UNISSON” by the ESRA group.
In 2013, he returned to Switzerland to work part-time in the social sector and created his film education channel, “Arrête Ton Cinéma,” on which he produced several videos covering various aspects of the seventh art.
Throughout the following years, he continued to act in short films, such as “GREG” directed by Tom Wahli, which earned him the Best Performance award at the 48 Hour Film Project Switzerland. He also took on physically demanding roles in the subversive and violent “M.Æ.R.F.N.” He ventured into web content by playing various roles in a commercial spot directed by Souad Kouninef for TedX, as well as in the first episode of the web series “LE DÉTECTIVE, LE JUGE ET LE BOURREAU” directed by Anthony Tenneriello. In 2022, he collaborated with director Antonio Petrone on two separate short film projects: “BOSS” and “5.56.”
He even tried his hand at theatre, portraying multiple roles in excerpts from “D’un Air de Famille,” “Des Souris et des Hommes,” and “Mahabharata.” Additionally, he lent his voice by collaborating with the “ArchéoLab” museum in the city of Pully for animated sketches aimed at youth for the exhibitions “Construire + Malin = Romain!” and “La Malédiction d’Hécate.”
